Hi there
« on: May 04, 2014, 04:15:12 am »
Hey, I'm a big fan of Blade Runner from Brazil, and I'm very interested in discussing the many aspects of the movie with you guys! A funny thing about BR and I is that the first time I watched the movie I didn't enjoy it, but today it's one of my favorites! Go figure... anyway, nice meeting you all!

The first time I saw the film was back in 1982...so I saw the original theatre version
and I fell in love with it from the very first moment!

And then I got the very first (Beta) Video Tape and fell in love again!

A few years later I bought the Directors Cut (VHS) and I didn't love it.

Now I don't mind the non-narrated version,
but I will always be a fan of the original theatrical version.

Nice meeting you too.
Don't Panic!

Welcome to the forum Skinjob101 😊

I kinda had the same experience as you, I fell asleep and felt it was kind of slow and I think I was expecting more of an action movie.

Something drew me back to it and I have it another go (I didn't fell asleep on the second viewing) and I think prehaps Vangelis atmospheric soundtrack was the thing that worked it's magic on me first

The rest is history and I have yet to see a movie that has to beat BR when it comes to creating an atmosphere, a world and a story that get it's roots so deep

That and the beautiful handcraft that is non-computer generated special effects 😉

hi there

I'm new here too and too shy to start a whole new thread saying "hi" lol

Big BR fan since the FInal Cut was released in 2007.... been growing steadily ever since, and i so cannot wait to see it again on the big screen when it gets rereleased in the UK in April this year.

In single words, only the good things that come to mind about BR....... :)    Brilliance. Aesthetic. Uncompromising. Intellectual. Addioctive.

As for me... i'm a 37 year old care worker, writing y first novel, write blog posts and fanzine reviews etc, and also love William Burroughs, Conan Doyle, cult tv.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better soon :)

softmachine...

To make sure I don't miss anything, I still check in here,
maybe once or twice a month, but I seem to be the only human left who does! lol
Activity was never very high here, but it looks like most members have completely gone
....maybe off-world now?
I hear Internet service is really poor in the mining colonies.
And the interference near the Tannhauser Gate makes it virtually impossible to connect.

Sorry to say it looks like you and I are the last surviving skinjobs.
Too bad really, I enjoyed the idea of a BR forum.
Oh well, I'm off to the Firefly community.
Browncoats anyone?
Don't Panic!
