Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep
« on: December 24, 2007, 01:31:03 am »
I finished it about a month or so ago and this was the second time I read it. The first time was some years ago and I think that I was "ready" for it this time

It is a great book, it has alot of stuff that isnt in the Blade Runner movie and even thou things like the mood organ, mercer and even the whole animal idea isnt in the movie I feel that it has more in common with the movie than things separating the two from eachother.
There is alot in the book that even points towards Deckard being a replicant himself
Whom knows, after having seen the extras in the Final Cut, there's a photo of Deckard with his wife (now living in the off-world colonies) that we get to see there is more to the story then we ever could have imagined, things that might tie it tighter to the book ?

Well, Ridley Scott never read the complete book while making the movie. Only AFTER IT he readed... Thus, book are a starting point for script writers and Scott itself, not more.
For me, as a BR fan, Blade Runner is a complex world formed byt ALL things around: book, movie, soundtrack, game.... and all related from these different ways to view the main story.

Yes I need to refresh my memory having last read the book many moon`s ago, I`ll catch a quiet time when that will be I`m really not sure! Recal-citrant
A Recal-citrant from birth...
A muse in the machine
Connecting to the plight of replicants...
Dystopian visions within mine
And Roy Batty`s rain drenched
Tears of saving grace...
Surviving in Los Angeles 2019
With dreams in off-world
And all it`s colonies
Near the Tannhauser Gate
