Douglas Trumbull’s official website offers the visitors an glimpse into the work of one of Hollywoods masters of special effects, he did some truly wonderful work in Blade Runner (David Dryer did however complete his work since Trumbull left to do Brain Storm) but you can now find a whole bunch of amazing images and videos in which Douglas talks about some of his wonderful work in Blade Runner.

Now, this is a pretty cool thing right and Im pretty sure most of you have heard about the secret showing of Blade Runner in which actors guiding the lucky people that was going to see the movie to the right location and also hinting them of what movie they will see. The whole thing with Secret Cinema is that you wont know what movie you’ll watch but are only given hints on what it will be.

Ridley Scott takes on another PKD story
Director Ridley Scott is returning to the work of the late Philip K Dick to executive produce a BBC TV adaptation of one of the American sci-fi writer’s novels.
Howard Brenton, the playwright and Spooks writer, is adapting Dick’s Hugo award-winning dystopian novel The Man in the High Castle into a four-part BBC1 mini-series.
Set in the 1960s in an alternative scenario where the Axis forces defeated the Allies in the second world war, the drama will be co-produced by Scott’s independent production company Scott Free Films. Scott’s credits include Blade Runner, the science fiction movie loosely based on Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe.

In an advert for Sky+ HD we can see Sir Antohny Hopkins talk about some of his “moments in movies that stays with us forever” and then recites the last words of Roy Batty
CryEngine2 goes Blade Runner
The community site GameArtist which is “all about various Game Art skills such as 3D Modeling & Texturing” is where they had a “Scene from a movie” contest a couple of months ago. The winning group was “The Replicants” and I guess you by now can guess what movie they choosed.
“The Replicants” group consists of Steven Chagnon, Alina Gal and Ilya Nedyal used the computer game engine Cryengine2 is what the the popular computer game Crysis was built with.
The end result of the work that “The Replicants” used in the contest is stunning and they won the contest before a group called “Twinkle in a Child’s Eye” whom entered with a scene from Hook, third place where a group called “Coridium” whom used X-Men 2 for inspiration.
There was actually another group called “Hot Dang! Sauce” whom entered the contest (ended up at 9’th place) whom also was inspired by Blade Runner.
