This is might be the alternative to those of us that are a bit sceptic towards Los Angeles 2049. A film that’s in the making which you can support thru their Kickstarter campaign. If you visit their homepage you’ll get to see things that is amazing and will make you get a very Blade Runner’ish feeling, they are not using any CGI and the film are being made by using miniatures, optical effects and practical effects, basically doing things the same way Blade Runner was made.
… The best thing is that the story is set in the Blade Runner universe
It is just another damp, rainy, and foggy night on the streets of the futuristic Los Angeles. Beneath the flashy neon signs and heavy traffic, scum of this megalopolis tries to make a living and hopefully survive to see another day. Criminals, junkies, prostitutes, punks… and one lonesome drug dealer in the middle of it all, fed up with this ever expanding city and lowlife parasites that inhabit it. He may be well on his way to leave it all behind, but fate has made other plans and his whole world will come crumbling down when a dirty cop with an agenda of his own enters his life.

Dave Bautista said in this interview that he thinks that Blade Runner 2049 will be better than Blade Runner and “answer some questions”.
Well, if you’d ask me the questions are what made Blade Runner such a masterpiece, the questions are what the audience should try to answer themselves. So, another question is if we want answers? My answer to that is no. I’d like to keep the questions and keep them unanswered.
Gaff will return in Blade Runner 2049, Edward James Olmos whom portrays Gaff and also come up with “Cityspeak” which is a mishmash of all kinds of languages all rolled into one let’s us know more about his role and his return in the video you can see below

The title for the upcoming Blade Runner sequel will be “Blade Runner 2049”. From the title we get a hint that the movie will be taking place 30 years after the original Blade Runner. “Blade Runner 2049” is set to be released on October 6, 2017 and in the cast you’ll find Jared Leto (Suicide Squad), Ana De Armas (War Dogs), Ryan Gosling (Drive), Robin Wright (Forrest Gump), Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy), Lennie James (The Walking Dead) and Harrison Ford whom once again will be playing Rick Deckard. Denis Villeneuve (Sicarrio) will be directing and the Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson will create the soundtrack to the movie
Neither IMDB or Alcon Entertainment has been updated with the the new title “Blade Runner 2049” (however, the official Facebook page has been updated)
Alcon Entertainment is joining with virtual reality company Oculus to create content and distribute content around the October, 2017 release of Blade Runner 2049, through a new company division called Alcon Interactive. The VR experiences will be exclusively distributed on the Oculus platform
