Blade Runner Trilogy: 25th Anniversary

A press release can now be found over at Elsewhere complete with track listings for the three CD’s that this anniversary edition consists off.
All three of the cd’s have 12 tracks.
The first CD is the “old” release of Vangelis Blade Runner Soundtrack.
The second CD consists of previously unreleased + bonus material.
The third and final disc will be of real interest to Vangelis fans – as it contains an entire album of newly written material composed by Vangelis to mark the 25th anniversary of Blade Runner. The music is strong and flowing, and retains the dark, atmospheric sense of the original score. There are some intriguing spoken word contributions too, from Ridley Scott, Roman Polanski, Oliver Stone and a host of distinguished actors, personalities and world dignitaries.

Vangelis New Blade Runner Release

Elsewhere shares some of the rumors about what Vangelis’ next Blade Runner release really is.
It seems like it will be a deluxe set commemorating the 25’th anniversary of Blade Runner, it will be a three CD package containing

  • The old release (1994) of the soundtrack
  • One disc with never before officially released music from Blade Runner
  • One disc with music made for the film but not used or released before

Sounds like an great release doesnt it. It’s expected to be released in December.
Im sure Elsewhere will have more information when it’s available so if youre interested (which I hope you are) keep an eye Elsewhere for the latest news on anything Vangelis related.

More European (R2) Collectors edition (5-disc)

Update
Alejandro Espinar from Spain was kind enough to send me an email with some information on the European (R2) Collectors Edition (Yes, the 5-disc set) of Blade Runner: The Final Cut that is to be found on zonadvd.com. It seems like there will be a release with the briefcase and for the first time it will also be dubbed into Spanish. Besides the Spanish dubbed version this seems exactly as the same release as in USA.
Release date is set to 11’th of December 2007 and the recommended price is 60 Euro
I hope that this European release will be the same in all the European countries.
