Rumors about a Blade Runner sequel

It must have been a couple of years since any rumours about a follow-up to Blade Runner reached us but now there is once again some gossip floating around on the Internet about a possible “Blade Runner 2”. /Film has some gossip and inside information on what it all is about.
It seems like one of the co-writers of Eagle Eye (Travis Wright) whom has (in some cooperation with John Glenn, also of Eagle Eye) been working on various ideas on a sequel for Blade Runner. From what one can read online (everything still on rumour level) there might already been in contact with Bud Yorkin (co-executive producer of Blade Runner).
John Glenn, the other man behind this is no longer involved thou, John says that he and Travis did work together with Bud Yorkin on a sequel to Blade Runner but never got to far since Blade Runner was such a perfect movie that they finally became “uneasy” with their ideas

One Official Lego Spinner

Lego presented the Visual Futurist Syd Mead with a one of a kind and official spinner when he attended a design summit in Billund, Denmark

This is just one of many spinner’s built with Lego out there, this one is once again a official one, built by Lego and I’d guess it will never be one like it which is sad. There are no official Blade Runner merchendise out there (besides posters) but there is alot of Blade Runner fan’s out there whom would love some neat official Blade Runner collectibles (and whom out there doesnt love Lego ?).
For those of you with Lego and some skills at building with Lego, take a look at this helpful guide at Brickshelf.com for building your own Lego Spinner !!

More on the Blade Runner Premium Pass/Studio Tour auctions

The Digital Bits has some hot news concerning the ongoing auctions on ebay for Blade Runner Studio Tour which will be hosted by none other than Sir Ridley Scott.

The single highest bidder in these ten auctions will receive TWO special items. The first we can reveal right now: It’s John Alvin’s stunning “I’ve Seen Things” limited edition Giclee print donated by our good friends from Sideshow Collectibles, and it will be signed by everyone from the cast and crew in attendance at the screening. The other item is still top secret – we can’t reveal it yet. Rest assured, however, it will be VERY cool.

Paul Prischman, Ass. Producer on Dangerous Days

Im sorry im late with this (Started on a new job this month..)The associate producer of BLADE RUNNER Ultimate Collector’s Edition Paul Prischman and his family needs our support and anyone can help. It’s a long story and some of it can be found below, for the complete story visit Pauls Braintrust. There you’ll find out both on how you can help Paul and his family AND also get a once in a lifetime chance to go on a Blade Runner Studio Tour hosted by Ridley Scott.

In late 2007, Paul was plagued by a series of symptoms which seemed, at first, to be some sort of recurring sinus infection. But no conventional sinus treatment helped, and his symptoms worsened. In February, an MRI revealed that Paul had a brain tumor the size of a golf ball in his brain stem. On March 18th, Paul underwent brain surgery. Although the tumor was successfully removed, the pathology proved to be Grade 4 brain cancer: Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). GBM is an incredibly aggressive form of cancer with a very low survival rate, and Paul, guided by an all-star team of neurologists and oncologists, is undergoing extensive radiation and chemotherapy. The cost of this treatment – prescriptions, hospital visits, various and sundry complications – has taken an enormous financial toll on the Prischmans. And since Paul was the sole financial provider for his family, you will begin to understand the need for your donations. The outpouring of support from countless individuals working in the industry who know Paul has been amazing. Selfless people asking what they can do to help. PAUL’S BRAIN TRUST was formed to focus these efforts and raise financial support for Paul and his family.

New edition of Future Noir: The Making Of Blade Runner

A quick reminder, a new revised edition of Paul M. Sammon’s “Blade Runner Bible” Future Noir: The Making Of Blade Runner was released in late December 2007 and it contains 608 pages instead of the old edition which contained 464 pages.

Now, to mark Blade Runner’s 25th anniversary and release of the “Final Cut” of Scott’s masterpiece, Paul M. Sammon has extensively revised Future Noir; bringing the story of the film’s sometimes troubled history fully up to date. This expanded edition contains new insights from Ridley Scott, information on the multiple-disc Blade Runner Special Edition DVD Set, and insights into everything that went into producing Scott’s preferred and final version of his masterpiece Also newly included is an exclusive interview with star Harrison Ford who for the first time talks exensively about his pivotal role in one of cinema’s most iconic films

Im gonna read this BR Bible once more and I’ve started looking into the new bits already. Sammon’s interview with Harrison Ford is really interesting and it brings some things I wondered over into the light. The best book on Blade Runner just got better !!
You can find more information on this new edition at Orion Books, UK
